Workshop deals with the speculations of the possible, probable, plausible and preferable scenarios of the future of remote research. The workshop approach is based on the experiences of Critical and Speculative design, as an approach for critical and reflexive thinking about preferable futures. Based on the participants’ experiences in remote research in the circumstances of crises and disasters (pandemics) participants were addressed the future of remote research. The workshop speculate about different technological, economic, political and social futures (both wanted and unwanted) in which future remote research will be contextualized).
The workshop is led by renowned and expecienced international experts in Speculative and critical design, applied in the research context. Dr. Michael Smyth and Dr. Ingi Helgason from the Edinburgh Napier University and creative informatics project, coordinated and facilitated by assistant professor Dr Ivica Mitrovic from the Art Academy University of Split and Nikola Balić, Head of Science and Innovation Department at University of Split.
